  1. Be the best you can be
  2. Make eye contact
  3. When responding to an adult, answer “Yes/No Sir” or “Yes/No Ma’am”
  4. If someone in the class wins a game or does something well, congratulate that person
  5. During discussions, respect other students’ comments, opinions and ideas
  6. If you win or do well at something, do not brag. If you lose, do not show anger
  7. Do not over-exaggerate welcomes or congratulations
  8. If you are asked a question in conversation, you should ask a question in return
  9. Do not smack your lips, TSK, roll your eyes or show disrespect with gestures
  10. Always say, “Thank you” when given something
  11. When you receive something, do not insult the gift or the giver
  12. Surprise others by performing random acts of kindness
  13. Follow along when reading together in class
  14. Answer all written questions with a complete sentence
  15. Do not ask for a reward for good grades or behavior
  16. You must complete your homework everyday
  17. Classroom transitions will be swift, quiet and orderly
  18. When homework or classwork is assigned, to do not moan or complain
  19. Always be punctual
  20. You must bring a refillable water bottle to school
  21. Know Learning Gate staff members’ names and greet them in the hall by name
  22. Keep yourself, your lunch table and bathrooms clean and germ free
  23. Greet visitors and make them feel welcome
  24. Do not stare at a student being reprimanded
  25. Take a moment to enjoy the outdoors
  26. After dining in the cafeteria or elsewhere, be responsible for your trash
  1. Show pride in your community; pick up trash or litter even if it is not yours
  2. If you get insulted be the bigger person
  3. When meeting new people, shake hands and repeat their names
  4. Never take another person’s food without asking. When offered, only take your fair share
  5. If someone drops something and your are close to it, pick it up
  6. Hold the door for people rather than letting it close on them
  7. If someone bumps into you, say “Excuse Me” even if it was not your fault
  8. On a field trip, enter a public building quietly and compliment the place you are visiting
  9. During an assembly, do not speak or call out to friends
  10. Be responsible for your actions. If you are disciplined, own it; don’t moan or groan it
  11. When returning from a trip, thank and shake the hand of every chaperone
  12. Never cut in line
  13. Be responsible for your waste free lunch
  14. If someone is bullying you let an adult know
  15. Be an upstander not a bystander
  16. Stand up for what you believe in
  17. Do not interrupt adults when they are speaking to each other
  18. Live so that you will never have regrets
  19. Remember that nature is our best teacher
  20. Always challenge yourself
  21. Ignorance is not an excuse
  22. Learn from your mistakes and move on
  23. Do not hold a grudge
  24. No matter the circumstance, be honest
  25. Dress appropriately for the occasion
  26. Do not slouch or put your feet up in class
  27. Seize the day and live with no regrets

Every classroom, office and student space must have a copy of the LG 53 posted. In each classroom, administration will be looking to see that students are standing when answering questions or talking, encouraging their classmates and following the LG 53.
