Our students are on their way to compete!

Learning Gate Community School has narrowed it down to four outstanding students to participate in the Amazing Shake in Atlanta GA! They will be leaving Thursday morning, February 8th.All of our 7th & 8th grade students participated in several rounds this Fall to choose the Top 4 students to attend the Amazing Shake Competition. Members of our community came out to judge and give feedback on our students ability to network, present product ideas and excel in group conversation. All skills that are vital to today’s work skills.ABOUT THE AMAZING SHAKEThe Amazing Shake is a competition that places an emphasis on teaching students manners, discipline, respect, and professional conduct. Students learn the nuances of professional human interaction as they are taught skills such as how to give a proper handshake, how to “work a room,” how to give a successful interview, and how to remain composed under pressure. The goal is to prepare our students so that they are able to present themselves exceptionally well for opportunities today as well as those that will come in the future.The 3-day competition consists of case-scenario stations set up around the school that every student must pass through while exercising etiquette, composure and savoir-faire. Top performers advance to the next level of challenges until there is ultimately one overall national champion!The Amazing Shake National Competition is open to any student in the5th-8th grade during the 2017-18 school year. Schools are encouraged to have local Amazing Shake competitions and to send their top performers to Nationals.The National Amazing Shake is hosted at the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, GA.
