Learning Gate Community School offers a multi-faceted curriculum for its students from Kindergarten through Middle School. In addition to the core courses of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, students engage in a variety of Exploratory Learning opportunities: environmental studies, the arts, technology, gardening, student designed projects, and collaboratively developed theme-based units of inquiry and study.

The curriculum is firmly rooted in the belief that our Community of learners needs to engage in exploring, observing, wondering, and reflecting. It is through these natural learning activities that the students develop a sense of place and appreciation for their natural environment. They also learn about their communities and participate in a variety of community service projects.

Children are the focus of Learning Gate’s curriculum: their individual gifts, strengths, and natural curiosities. Our educational program promotes academic excellence, develops social skills, and stimulates our students to become lifelong learners.
