In October of 2009 we officially submitted our application to be the first certified Platinum Green Modular School in the world.  This is a significant accomplishment because we originally began our “Journey to Platinum” under the LEED for Schools version 1.  Because of the stringent requirements, this program has since been revised to exclude some of the components.  Learning Gate’s Green Classrooms, however were able to meet the original stringent requirements. 

One of the requirements of the LEED certification is to use the buildings and environment as a teaching tool.  Our students are very involved in the learning and teaching process where it pertains to sustainability.  Because of their commitment and strong belief in “saving the earth” this page has representations of some of the projects our students have developed to teach audiences about sustainability.  Enjoy the presentations.  And check back with us often as we update often.
